to feel

The rage that overtook him
Invaded his cool mind.
To taste the tang of victory
The vengeance he would find.
To feel the fire of fury
Enthralled him, to start
But once again he realised.
None of this would win her heart

He’d won before in battles
But never won the war
The blood would always wash up
On his poor old kitchen floor
He knew now to be cautious
To tread with upmost care
When searching through his closet
For skeletons lived there

pirate adventures - in stable unstable

i was a pirate once
but now the ship in which i sailed lies sunken at the bottom of the deepest ocean
never to be recovered
now i walk on foals legs
unsturdy in this new world that seems to change every moment
every butterfly which flutters past is wonderous but i cannot seem to grasp it with these hands of mine
a net is acquired with speech
but speech will only get you so far
once the people try to herd you, and use you for sport
then the only place to gallop is away
or nowhere

her

the perfect eyes that look upon me with such arrogance
testing me
the brilliantly soft hair that sways in the cold wind
creating creatures of deadly beauty
out of strands as shallow as your love
the colder remarks drifting slowly from your tongue like blades,
gradually turning it forked

you can still poison me, subtle snake
so watch where you put your lips
and where you put your teeth

life

life is a jigsaw
your parents are one corner, your best friend is another corner, your soulmate is another corner, and your teacher/s is/are another corner
all the pieces in the middle are less significant
but when they've all been found
your left with a picture
you can take the corners away from the picture if you want
but then it doesnt look the same
it looks incomplete
broken, if you will
and the cracks between the other pieces become more evident

without someone to bring you into the world, someone to guide you through it and teach you about it, someone to go through it with, and someone to go through it for, your picture will never be complete, and will lie on the kitchen table until it gets pulled apart by frustrated hands.
